Oversized “birdhouses” are slowly popping up throughout town as part of the Great Bend Convention and Visitors Bureau’s scene byway promotion. Now stores along K-96 have collaborated to unveil their birdhouses at the same time, Community Coordinator Christina Hayes said.
Artists for the Birdhouses include Scott Beahm for Waters True Value, Gwendolyn Beuoy for E-Z Tan, Dr. Mark Judd for 20x20 Optics and Rob Roblyer for P& S Security.
The goal is to have all birdhouses up by the K-96 June Jaunt which will take place June 1-3. “The K-96 Stores wanted to invite and show the public that they are involved in Great Bend projects and they are excited about the opportunity to participate,” Hayes said.
All four works of art will be unveiled at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
