On March 16th the Larned Family Israeli/Okinawan Kobra Kai Karate and Mixed Martial Arts U.S.A. Academy had its first belt promotions under its new Instructors, 3rd Degree Black Belt, Sensei Nathan Chlumsky and 1st Degree Black Belt, Sempai Michael Alnore.
Alerick Lewis and Anthony Quintana both of Larned were promoted to 8th Kyu Orange Belt, while Danielle Davinport, also from Larned, was promoted to 9th Kyu Yellow.
Each student was tested on etiquette, exercises, basics, Ippon Kumite (1 step sparring/fighting), rolls, kata, control techniques, and general knowledge of the art.
The Larned Kobra Kai is located at 505 Broadway in Larned and is now open Monday through Friday from 6-8p.m. with Little Ninja Afterschool Karate from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The school will be holding an all night karate lock-in party open to the public starting at 6p.m. on April 2nd.
