DALE HOGG Great Bend Tribune

CUNA Mutual Retirement Solutions’ employees donate funds toward the purchase of fans for the Great Bend Salvation Army store’s box fans project, allowing people in need to request a fan for free. Fans were purchased locally at the Great Bend Wal-Mart which also contributed $50 toward the fan purchase. The fans were donated to the Salvation Army at its Customer Appreciation Day Thursday, sponsored by Nextech Wireless which served hot dogs, hamburgers and more in appreciation of Salvation Army customers. Pictured last Thursday morning outside the store are: Genia Hayes and Cindy White with CUNA; Travis Straub and Jacob Inglese who helped with the project; Laura Straub with CUNA; Dana Walls and Amanda Presley with the Salvation Army; Brett Carper with Nex-Tech; and Pete Wesner with CUNA.
