Dr. Nathan Koch, Associate Professor of Bassoon at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, will be attending the International Double Reed Society conference in Tokyo, Japan. The conference is held each year at different locations around the world to promote the double reed woodwinds, primarily oboes and bassoons.
He, along with 3 members of the Austin Symphony, were selected to perform in a quartet at the conference. The conference takes place from Aug. 15-19, in Tokyo.
Nathan is the son of Kurtis and Debbie Koch of Great Bend.
