Local contracting firm honored for years of service

L&M Contractors Inc., based in Great Bend, was recently recognized in the Kansas Association of Contractors monthly newsletter for its half century in business. The firm constructs bridges, culverts, and concrete paving throughout Kansas and Oklahoma.

Ed Mauler and his former partner, Kenneth Langley, founded L & M Contractors Inc. 50 years ago. The two had previously worked for A.L. Beller Company in Great Bend in the bridge construction industry for a number of years prior to purchasing Beller’s bridge construction division.  

Mauler was an estimator/project manager and Langley a general superintendent for the company. Langley retired in 1996 at which time Curt Mauler, Ed’s oldest son, came into the business.  

Curt is currently president of L & M Contractor’s Inc. and has served in this role for the past several years.
