The Golden Belt Community Foundation recently received a $5,000 grant from the Midwest Energy Community Impact Fund to support the Giving Tuesday campaign.
“This grant will be used to increase the matching funds available to organizations that receive donations to their endowment funds at the community foundation,” said Christy Tustin, Golden Belt Community Foundation executive director, “and hopefully this grant also will encourage more participation in Giving Tuesday.”
In 2015 Midwest Energy modified the Midwest Community Fund program by establishing five $5,000 grants, with one to be awarded annually in each existing Community Fund area. These five grants are awarded to communities or organizations working on larger projects that enhance the community as a whole with long-lived improvements. A requirement is that the applicant must match the award with funds from the community.
