Mike Siefkes becomes mayor of SeaTac
1-Tribune

Mike Siefkes, son of Great Bend residents John and Gloria Siefkes, is now mayor of SeaTac, Wash.
Siefkes is a 1988 graduate of Great Bend High School. He received his MBA from the University of Kansas, and passed the bar for both the Washington and Kansas.
“SeaTac” is a combination of the first syllables of the city names Seattle and Tacoma. The city boundaries surround the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, which is owned and operated by the Port of Seattle. It was the first city to raise minimum wage, in 2013, to $15 per hour for employees of airport-related businesses such as hotels, parking lots and car rental agencies.
