My Favorite Furnishings announced the addition of Mary Stude to its design team. Stude was born and raised in Larned. After graduating high school, she earned a bachelor of fine arts degree from Fort Hays State University with a major in interior design.
“During my senior year, I did an internship with an established design store in Great Bend,” Stude said. After graduating, she worked there for over 15 years. “I had a great boss/mentor,” she said. “Influenced by his natural design skills and easy-going personality, I have grown into a well-rounded designer and have been part of some beautiful projects. My passion is anything art involved - floral arrangements, window treatments, and Christmas trees are truly sculptures for me.”
She feels she excels at color and material selection, space planning, and furniture/accessory arranging. “Many of my clients say that I have magical skills in creating new life for their existing treasures. I love to blend old with new, rough texture with sleek, and introduce the unexpected. Being a people-pleaser, I have a passion to help people and make them happy.”
Her motto is that there is always more than one answer and the best answer is what the customer wants. She doesn’t try to push any certain style or trend. “Instead, I try to pull from the character of the home or building and the personality of the client,” she said. “I am very excited to be given the chance to join the team at My Favorite Furnishings. In just the few days that I have been here, Kari and I have made a great pair. We both bring to the table different skills and balance one another real well. I can’t wait to see how much we can make this store grow.”
Stude is available for a free in-home consultation thru the store. Call 620-285-6944 to have her come and help you with any furniture or accessory selections you may need.
