HOISINGTON — Bill Nicholson of Hoisington was recently installed as vice president of the Kansas Funeral Directors Association at the Tri-State Convention held May 5-8 in Overland Park.
Nicholson received his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Kansas State University and his certificate of Mortuary Science from the University of Kansas. He is a licensed funeral director and embalmer, and is owner along with his son, Mike Nicholson, of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington and Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend.
He is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hoisington; a member and past Master of Masonic Lodge No. 331 A.F. & A.M. Hoisington; and a member and past president of the Hoisington Chamber of Commerce. He served on the Hoisington City Council, and the Hoisington USD 431 Board of Education, (past president). He is a former member and past president of Kiwanis Club.
Nicholson resides in Hoisington with his wife Pattie. He has a son, Mike Nicholson, of Great Bend; two stepsons, Barry Tarlton of Woodstock, Ga., and Kris Tarlton of Hoisington; and eight grandchildren.
Other KFDA officers elected include Justin Smith of Derby as president, Dudley Feuerborn as president-elect and Shane Brown as secretary/treasurer.
