Students who need a sports physical for the upcoming school year will be happy to know they don’t need to take the time to make an appointment, said Rebecca Popp, director of physician practice administration and operations at The University of Kansas Health System St. Rose Medical Pavilion, located at 3515 Broadway.

They are welcome at St. Rose Convenient Care Walk-In Clinic anytime during regular hours, 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

“This service helps meet the needs of busy families,” Popp said. “Students may come in for their sports physicals when it is most convenient for them.

“We are here seven days a week for walk-in patients,” she added. “With insurance, regular deductibles and copays apply. If a patient does not have insurance, the exam is $35. We want to do all we can to accommodate the community.”

A parent or guardian should accompany a minor child. Students who wear glasses or contact lenses should bring them to the exam.

“It also would be helpful if students bring their sports physical form already filled out and signed,” said Popp, an advanced practice registered nurse. “This is a time-saver.”

Sports physicals are available at St. Rose Medical Pavilion for students of all ages – elementary school through college age. Any student in Kansas is welcome.
