Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Foundation announces two new Trustees, Laura Smith and Janis Yeager.

Laura Smith has been in the healthcare field for over38 years. She brings to the Pawnee County Community her passion to improve quality of life for seniors living in the area. Laura is the Executive Director of Country Living of Larned and Managing Member of Country Living of Lyons. She has served on area boards in Pawnee County throughout her 16 years as a community member and was chosen by the Larned Area Chamber of Commerce as an “Empowering Leader” in 2015. Laura and her husband Jim reside in Larned, have five adult children and seven grandchildren. “It is an honor to receive the nomination to serve as a Trustee on the Pawnee Community Hospital Board Foundation. I am committed to joining my fellow trustees in serving our local community hospital in its pursuit of excellence. I am also incredibly proud of the continued growth and success that has been achieved thus far and am excited to be a part of its leadership.” Laura Smith PVCH Foundation Trustee

Janis Yeager is a representative of the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Auxiliary on the Board. Janis was raised in Dighton, coming from a large family who has influenced her giving back. She has graduated Cum Laude from Fort State University at age 50 after 22 semesters of night classes as a non-traditional student. “As a county and community, I believe we are so fortunate to have a first-rate hospital that is connected the the University of Kansas Health Systems and a hospital that offers numerous services delivered by an amazing and dedicated staff. I am thankful for the successful efforts a few years ago to save our hospital. During the transition to the new hospital, the ER team saved the life of a family member. These are the reasons I volunteer as a member of the PVCH Auxiliary. I am honored to belong to an organization whose members work tirelessly and selflessly to achieve our goals of supporting our hospital and community. The Foundation is instrumental in funding hospital and community projects. I am in awe at what the Foundation accomplishes. Currently, the Foundation is

working on raising funds to purchase a 3D mammography machine. I am privileged and beyond excited to work with the trustees, Foundation Director and PVCH Administrator. In any endeavor, developing strong relationships, learning from those relationships and being a productive team member are my ultimate goals.” said Janis.
