The owners of RePerks, 1216 Main, are taking the opportunity to “fill the void” left by the closing of the local KFC restaurant.
RePerks now offers buckets of chicken for small and large groups, along with 2-piece, 8-piece and 15-piece meals with a variety of side dishes.
“Since the Colonel left town, we are trying to step into his shoes,” said Rick Riggs. “We see this as an opportunity to enhance our services.
“We serve chicken here at RePerks and at our Tellers 1872 restaurant buffet every day,” he added. “And the one thing we have learned is people around here really like their chicken.”
Side dishes include mashed potatoes and gravy, macaroni and cheese, fiesta corn, green beans, French fries, coleslaw, green salad, baked beans, potato salad and macaroni salad.
Riggs noted that RePerks hours have been expanded too. It is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. The number is 620-786-2334.
“We really appreciate this great community’s support,” Riggs commented. “We recently reached a RePerks milestone on Facebook and now have 4,000 followers. With our expanded chicken service, we hope that number goes even higher.”
Riggs and Dennis Crouse also co-own Tellers 1872, which is next to RePerks in the Zarah Building at Lakin and Main; its address is 1919 Lakin. Tellers 1872 is in the process of securing a liquor license but for now, customers may bring their own spirits to dinner.
