Great Bend Chamber of Commerce members had a ribbon cutting for Rosewood Wine Cellar on April 25.

Rosewood Wine Cellar has been open for only four months, but already it’s become a popular shopping destination in downtown Great Bend. Business has been growing for the retail gift store, which promotes work opportunities for people with developmental disabilities with every purchase made by customers.
The Wine Cellar recently strengthened its position as an integral part of the downtown business community by joining the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce. A ribbon cutting was held April 25, in front of the Wine Cellar to commemorate the successful launch.
“The Rosewood Wine Cellar has become an important gateway for us to show customers what is possible for people with developmental disabilities when they are provided opportunities to work and produce in nurturing environments,” said Rosewood Services executive director Tammy Hammond. “Through the Wine Cellar and our growing line of products, we’ve been able to convey the success stories of our client-employees one customer at a time.
We appreciate the support that the community has given to our effort by frequenting our new store and purchasing our products. Of course, we strive to produce and carry only the best products, in order to remain strong in the marketplace.”
Rosewood Wine Cellar sells 15 varieties of locally produced wine with several more selections slated for introduction later this year. The Cellar has the unique distinction of providing free wine tasting, even allowing patrons to wine taste while they shop.
Besides Rosewood Wine, the store also carries an assortment of products made by Rosewood Services client-employees. Those products include homemade hand-cut soaps and bath products, pure raw honey, gourmet jellies, horsehair pottery, specialty meats with Rosewood Beef, along with hot and mild salsa with naturally grown Rosewood tomatoes. Additionally, the store sells Rosewood meat rubs, fresh-roasted coffee, tea tonics and a variety of other unique products that are perfect for personalizing a gift basket for any occasion.
Rosewood Wine Cellar is open Tuesdays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays, 1-6 p.m.
