TULSA, Okla. – Schoenhofer Enterprises of Tulsa, Okla., announced that the Great Bend Kentucky Fried Chicken, located at 2917 10th St., has been purchased by longtime Kansas franchisee Denis Schoenhofer of Schoenhofer Enterprises, Cameron Schoenhofer, Salvador Hernandez, and Billy Hodge, all of Schoenhofer Enterprises. Schoenhofer Enterprises owns and operates 37 KFC restaurants throughout Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, and Kansas, including one each in Wichita, Derby, Andover, El Dorado, Emporia, Liberal and Coffeyville.
“Schoenhofer Enterprises is excited to expand its footprint in Kansas and to be a part of the Great Bend community,” said Denis Schoenhofer. “The dining room, drive thru, and carry-out will offer our customers a variety of options that will soon include online ordering and delivery. Our focus is to provide the quality of food and service that Great Bend deserves.”
“The city of Great Bend is very important to me personally as we continue to grow in Kansas. My father, and Cameron’s grandfather, Chuck Schoenhofer, began as one of the original franchisees of Kentucky Fried Chicken in Wichita in 1960. With eight stores now in Kansas, it’s an exciting time to expand along with my son, Cameron, who is a third-generation KFC franchisee. My daughter, Samantha, is also a third-generation franchisee of KFCs in El Dorado and Emporia.”
The KFC restaurant will open on Monday, July 26 with daily hours of operation from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Delivery will be available in August through delivery partner, DoorDash.
KFC specializes in Original Recipe, Extra Crispy and Extra Crispy Tenders, Hot Wings, KFC Famous Bowls, Pot Pies, freshly hand-prepared chicken sandwiches, biscuits and homestyle sides.
