The Kansas Association of Broadcasters has recognized nine Smoky Hills Public Television programs and promotions. The 2015 award winners were announced earlier this month.
Local productions Traveling Kansas, Scoreboard Show and Doctors on Call have been awarded first place. Traveling Kansas highlights communities, events and people across central and western Kansas. The episode submitted for judging celebrated Oakley and the Cornhusking Festival. The Scoreboard Show presents scores and highlights from high school football games in the viewing area. Doctors on Call gives viewers a chance to ask questions during the live call-in show.
Another local production, Real Ag, received second place for In-Depth News Reporting. SHPTV also was awarded for five station promotions. The awards will be presented at the KAB Annual Convention in October.
