Straub International leadership recently announced that its Larned location will soon be consolidated into the agricultural equipment dealer’s remaining locations.
Larry Straub, CEO, said a general slowing of business made this difficult decision necessary to become more efficient.
“Since the Larned location is only 20 miles away from our Great Bend store, there are many service overlaps,” said Straub. “Our other locations are at least 50 miles apart, which is comparative to other industry dealers.”
Straub International also has locations in Hutchinson, Pratt, Salina, Wichita and Marion. For more than 40 years, the company has provided farm and ranch necessities and excellent service to the agricultural community.
“This decision was extremely difficult, especially considering the high regard we have for all the communities we serve,” said Straub. “With this change, our goal is to help Straub International adjust to a level that can be sustained in the current business climate.”
Straub added that the company recognized that the consolidation may cause difficulty for employees and customers. Many employees will have the option to transfer to another location, or will receive assistance to move in a different direction.
