USDA Rural Development Single Family Housing Director, Kent Colwell, recognized this year’s top five Guaranteed Rural Housing (GRH) Loan Program lenders in the state. The top five GRH lenders processed nearly 40 percent of the total loans in Kansas, and for the third year in a row Landmark National Bank is the state’s top lender.
“USDA partners with lenders throughout the state to provide rural Kansans with the opportunity to purchase affordable homes,” said Colwell. “We would like to thank all of the lenders that participate in the GRH program, but would like to recognize the five most active lenders for their commitment to providing home loans to rural Kansans.”
USDA Rural Development provided 1,098 Kansas families with guaranteed home loans this year, working with more than 100 lenders. The loans provided a $122 million investment in rural communities throughout the state.
The GRH program provides a federal guarantee on home loans made by approved lenders to moderate income households in eligible rural areas. The loan provides qualified borrowers up to 100 percent financing on a 30-year fixed-rate home loan.
