Bj Wooding, the cartographer in Barton County’s mapping division, received an Employee Recognition Award from the Barton County Commission and the county’s Employee Relations Committee (ERC) on Monday. This award also recognized her as “employee of the quarter” for fall 2016.
ERC President Wendy Birzer presented the award and read Wooding’s nomination, submitted by Tera Tiemeyer:
“I would like to nominate Bj Wooding for the Third Quarter Employee Recognition Award. Bj is always willing to help me make changes to our department website, even if she has shown me the same thing before. She is very knowledgeable about how to make the appropriate changes – big or small, she seems to know it all. She is very kind and patient with me, and answers any questions I have. If she doesn’t know the answer to my questions, you can be assured, she will find out the answer and follow up with you. Bj will take/make time out of her busy schedule to help you.
“Bj has served as the president of the ERC, but was unable to be re-elected for that position soon after I began my employment with the county. She still helps the new president, Wendy, with any problems or concerns when needed. She has helped make the transition of having a new president seem seamless.
“Bj is very precise and pays close attention to details. She keeps an upbeat positive attitude, and always has a smile or laugh for you. She takes pride in her work. For those of you that don’t know, Bj works in her office by herself all day, everyday. You know that when you open the door to her office, you will find her working hard, focused on her job.
“Bj has worked for the county for over 26 years (she started January 1990), and she is a very valuable employee for the county. It is for these reasons that I nominate her for the Third Quarter Employee Recognition Award.”
