Barton County releases weekly COVID-19 report
5.8% of Kansans vaccinated

Barton County Administrator Phil Hathcock released the following COVID-19 update for the county at 12:30 p.m. Friday, showing 41 new cases since 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22.

There have been 2,341 positive cases in Barton County to date, and 53 of those were active Friday – a decrease from 67 active cases a week earlier. The number of active quarantine or isolation orders was also down, with 80 on Friday compared to 116 a week earlier. To date, Barton County has issued 6,826 of these orders.

Of the 2,341 cases to date in Barton County, 988 were males and 1,353 were females.

Of the 41 news cases, 16 are males and 25 are females. Two reside in Albert, 22 in Great Bend, three in Hoisington and 14 in rural Barton County.

Statewide

Kansas Department of Health and Environment reports there have been 274,685 COVID-19 cases, resulting in 8,417 hospitalizations and 3,779 statewide deaths. There were 2,168 new cases, 61 new deaths and 149 new hospitalizations reported since Wednesday, Jan. 27.

KDHE shows the follow total positive and probable cases for area counties, and the total deaths related to COVID-19:

• Barton 2,496 cases (+4 from Wednesday); 40 deaths

• Ellsworth 1,162 (+5); 18

• Pawnee 1,106 (-1); 11 (+1 from Wednesday)

• Rice 996 (+26); 5

• Rush 418 (+2); 10

• Russell 798 (+2); 22 (+1)

• Stafford 321 (+4); 9 (+1)


Vaccinations

To date, 5.8% of Kansans have been vaccinated. The total doses administered include 168,341 first doses and 36,773 second doses.
