Barton County has received the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine booster doses for individuals that received their first dose on or before Feb. 18, and for individuals who would like to receive their first dose. The Barton County Health Department will conduct a drive-through vaccination clinic Thursday, March 18, at the Barton County Fairgrounds Expo III building west of Great Bend.

Booster doses will be available from 9-11 a.m. and first doses will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Anyone who received the first COVID-19 vaccination no later than Feb. 18 is automatically on the list for the second dose and therefore does not need to call to make an appointment.

County health officials add that second doses will only be available from 9-11 a.m. “If you for some reason are not able to accommodate this schedule, your name will be placed on the list for second doses at the next drive-through event.”

County officials also suggest that anyone coming for either dose first fill out the vaccine consent form. It can be found on the county website, www.bartoncounty.org, to download and print. This step is not required but will expedite the vaccination process.
