County reports 28 new COVID-19 cases since Friday

Barton County has had 28 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 since Friday, Oct. 23.

The county’s updated numbers were released at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday by Donna Zimmerman, public information officer for Barton County. Thirteen males and 15 females were added to the total, bringing the number of cases to date to 751. Of these, 59 are active. There have been seven deaths attributed to COVID-19.

The new cases include one Claflin resident, five from Ellinwood, 15 from Great Bend, two from Hoisington, one from Olmitz and four from rural Barton County.

To date, 313 males and 438 females have had COVID-19 in Barton County. The county has issued 4,200 quarantine or isolation orders and 342 of those remain active.
