COVID-19 positives continue to grow

This is the latest version of this story, adding two more COVID-19 cases Thursday afternoon.


Seven Barton County residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since Wednesday, starting with one male and one female, both living in Great Bend, announced Wednesday morning by the county’s Public Information Officer Donna Zimmerman.

Three more cases were announced Thursday morning. These were a male and two females that included two Ellinwood residents and one Great Bend resident. Late Thursday afternoon, Zimmerman announced two more cases, a male and female; one lives in Great Bend and one in Ellinwood.

There have been 86 positive cases in the county, 40 males and 46 females. There are 25 active positive cases and there have been three deaths in which COVID-19 was listed as a factor. During the duration of the pandemic, 924 quarantine or isolation orders have been issued and 230 of those are still active.
