The Kansas Department of Health and Environment updated its COVID-19 statistics on Wednesday. As of 9 a.m., there were 1,906 new cases and 11 new deaths statewide reported since Wednesday, Oct. 12.
The weekly cumulative incidence rate for the period from Oct. 8-14 saw fewer counties with the “high” rate, defined as 100 or more cases per 100,000 people. Only 10 counties in Kansas had the “high” rating, but two – Ellsworth and Rush – were in central Kansas.
Barton and Russell counties had a “substantial” new case rating with 50-99 cases per 100,000 people. Rice, Pawnee and Stafford counties had a “moderate” rating with 10-49 cases per 100,000 people.
