The Great Bend Recreation Commission will close the Great Bend Rec Center/City Auditorium, Great Bend Activity Center and cancel recreation programs and activities scheduled for the week of March 16-March 22.  

The Recreation Commission is monitoring the latest information and guidelines provided by Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) on the COVID-19 virus. Essential employees will report to work sites during this period for staff education on proper procedures and guidelines as required by KDHE to limit the spread of COVID-19 virus.

As their facilities reopen, they encourage general preventive measures for everyone attending the GBRec facilities and programs and to take proper precautions to help prevent the illness transmission.  

• Stay home when sick

• Proper and frequent hand washing

• Cover mouth and nose when sneezing and coughing

• Avoid contact with people who are sick
