The Kansas Department of Health and Environment reported Friday that there have been 56,592 COVID-19 cases statewide, resulting in 2,816 hospitalizations and 632 deaths. There were 1,366 new cases and 11 new deaths reported since Wednesday, Sept. 23.
The state has had 446,178 negative tests.
In Barton County, KDHE reports 24 residents have been hospitalized due to COVID-19.

The Barton County Public Information Officer has not released a local update since last Monday, Sept. 21, when the county’s cumulative total cases totaled 441 and there were 144 active cases, along with 501 active quarantine/isolation orders. The county did announce two COVID-related deaths on Wednesday, bringing the total to seven.
