The Kansas Department of Health and Environment released its weekly COVID-19 updates on Wednesday and continued to show Pawnee County with a “high” rate of new cases.
To date, Kansas has had 806,934 COVID-19 cases, resulting in 8,952 deaths statewide as of 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 29. There were 4,988 new cases and seven new deaths reported since Wednesday, June 22.
The weekly Cumulate Incidence Rate for the period of June 18-24 shows the number of new cases in area counties:
• Barton 23, ranked “substantial” (50-99 cases per 100,000 people)
• Ellsworth 1, “moderate” (10-49 cases per 100,000)
• Pawnee 33, “high” (100 or more cases per 100,000)
• Rice 20, “high”
• Rush 0, “low”
• Russell 6, “substantial”
• Stafford 2, “moderate” (10-49 cases per 100,000)
Although data for more recent days is expected to be incomplete, here are the area totals as of 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, with any change from June 22:
