Students return to COVID-19 surge in schools
USD 428 sees the highest case numbers of the school year

There were 80 active COVID-19 cases Tuesday at Great Bend USD 428, according to numbers updated weekly on the district website. This compares to 15 active positive cases on Jan. 10. So far for the school year there have been 268 resolved cases in the district, compared to 261 on Jan. 10.

Great Bend USD 428 students returned to classes Tuesday following a day off where only teachers and staff were at work.

Here are the total active positive cases and total resolved cases at each building as of Jan. 17. Numbers include students and staff:

No update Monday

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment updates its online COVID-19 database on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. However, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, the database at coronavirus.kdheks.gov was not updated on Jan. 17. The next update will occur on Wednesday, Jan. 19.
