Teachers, others getting vaccine
first doses 3-10-21

Dozens of Great Bend USD 428 employees will receive the COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday, Superintendent Khris Thexton said. One hundred fifty doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be administered at Grace Community Church.

“It’s by appointment,” Thexton said, adding they expect to vaccinate 19 people every 15 minutes.

Great Bend USD 428 has not reported a new COVID-19 case since Feb. 22.

Other vaccination opportunities include Barton County’s drive-through clinic this Saturday, where the Moderna-brand vaccine will be administered, and Ellinwood Hospital & Clinic’s by-appointment vaccination clinic, from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, where 100 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be administered.
