The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Free Meal Program, which has provided free meals to all Great Bend USD 428 students since earlier this year, has been extended through June 30, 2021, USD 428 Food Service Director Kristy Alvord said. Previously the program was set to expire December 31, 2020.

Under the program, all students enrolled in USD 428 are eligible for free lunch and breakfast. This includes quarantined students and remote learners, whose meals can be ordered online in advance for daily pickup from the USD 428 Central Kitchen.
