Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! Today, I would like to discuss our upcoming summer program. I personally am so excited for this summer’s theme, dinosaurs! I never outgrew my dinosaur phase, because dinos are amazing. I’m thrilled to get to celebrate these amazing creatures with all of you this summer. Who knows what kind of fun we will unearth at the library?
We have so many fun events planned, like our big kickoff at the end of May, featuring modern-day descendants of real-life dinosaurs (a.k.a. chickens) and huge, fantastical beasts called alpacas, who have roamed the Andes Mountains for the last 6,000 years. There will also be snacks, games, and much more to be announced. Look forward to all kinds of prehistoric events for all ages this summer, as well as reading challenges to win fabulous prizes, including a party!
We love providing fun, educational, and engaging free programs all year long, but summer is when we get to go all-out with our events. We are so grateful for the support we have received from our community in the past to make the most of our summer for our patrons in our mission to improve literacy in our community through our reading program. Last year, we had thousands of people take advantage of more than 70 different events that made up our Summer Library Program.
