Fort Larned National Historic Site is kicking off the Christmas season with its annual Christmas Open House event Saturday, Dec. 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Light refreshments will be served. Planned are 19th century games for the whole family, as well as cooking and blacksmith demonstrations. Santa Claus will also make an appearance.

 Western National Park Association also plans on running a 15% off sale just for that day, which will be the perfect time to get some Christmas shopping done.
