August and Vada Freund will celebrate their 65th anniversary with a reception from 1 to 4 p.m. on May 29, at Perkins Restaurant Kansas Room in Great Bend. Hosts for the event will be their children, Charla and Darren Thornton of Paola, Mike and Debbie Freund of Great Bend, Mary Kay and Bruce Kelm of Shawnee, Eric and Kathy Freund and Mark and Vina Freund, all of Hutchinson. The couple has nine grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Vada Folck and August E. Freund were united in marriage on May 26, 1951, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Little River.
