John and Carole Harris will celebrate their 60th anniversary on Aug. 15, 2017, with a card shower. The couple celebrated earlier this summer with a family vacation in Branson, Mo.
Carole Schoonover and John Harris were united in marriage on Aug. 15, 1957, in Haven. Residents of Great Bend since 1976, John was the Assistant Superintendent of USD 428 in Great Bend and Carole was the Director and Teacher at Share and Care Pre-school. The couple have four daughters, Pam and Kendall Allender of Hutchinson and their children Erika and Harley Ewing and lil’ Harley of Hutchinson, Erin and Jon Bernard of Wichita and Zane Allender of Hutchinson; Kim and Mark Randall of Great Bend and their children Jackson Randall of Lawrence, Jensen Randall and Johnathan Randall, both of Great Bend; Jenni and Steve Wittig of Great Bend and their children, Chantell McReynolds of Hutchinson and Ridlee, Lennox and Koda, and Dustin and Melissa Swanson of Great Bend; and Tammi and Kevin Krebaum of Salina and their children, Kode Krebaum of Pratt, Megan Krebaum and Julianna Krebaum, both of Salina.
