Elward and JoAnn Hiss will celebrate their 70th anniversary with a reception from 2-4 p.m. on Oct. 29, at the First Presbyterian Church parlor. Hosts for the event will be their children, Rick (Tina) Hiss, Sandy Hiss and Jim (Melinda) Hiss; grandchildren Michelle (Aaron) Peck, Brad (Niki) Hiss, E.J. Hiss and Veronica Hiss; and great-grandchildren Adia and Noah Peck. The couple request no gifts.
JoAnn Gallon and Elward Hiss were united in marriage on Oct. 26, 1947, at the First Presbyterian Church. They reside in rural Great Bend.
