Barton and Barbara Hoar will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. on May 7 at the Central Baptist Church. Hosts for the event will be their children, John and Crystal Worm of Wichita, Darryl and Karen Hoar of Osborne, Vince and Cheryl Sciandra of Aurora, Colo. Karl and Brenda McCulley of Great Bend and Diane McReynolds of Ellinwood. The couple has 11 grandchildren.
Barton Hoar and Barbara Koch were united in marriage on May 7, 1961 at the First Baptist Church in Ellinwood. Barton served in the Air Force for 22 years and, as a result, the couple has resided in Kansas, South Dakota, Nebraska, Texas, Mississippi, Germany, Okinawa, Italy and England. The retired couple currently reside in Great Bend.
