Betty and Larry Kear celebrated their 50th anniversary on Aug. 14 at the Siegal reunion held at the 4-H Building in Salina. Present were their five children, Chris and Lisa Kear, of Easton, Paul and Paula Kear of Colwich, Kim and P.J. Nowak of Gorham, Pam and Andy Gabbert of Broadon, and Joy and Jeff Allison of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Megan Kear, Cody Kear, Chase, Cole and Clay Kear, Phillip, Audra and Julia Nowak, Joshua, Justin and Jessica Gabbert, Cyrus and Heidi Haynes; as well as family members, the Kear cousins, the Jones family, and friends.
Larry Kear and Betty Jones were united in marriage on Aug. 6, 1960 in Brewster. Larry is the son of Murray and Clara Kear. Better is the daughter of P.C. and Helen Hones. Larry is retired after 42 years at Rock Island, Missouri Pacific and Union railroads. After being a stay at home mom for 18 years, Betty then did a variety of jobs. The couple retired in 2002 and now reside in Salina.
