Larry and Connie McIntosh

Larry and Connie McIntosh of Great Bend celebrated their 50th anniversary on Jan. 21st.  
Connie Sue Martin of Springhill, Ark. and Larry McIntosh of Hays were united in marriage on Jan. 21, 1966, in Springhill, Ark. Larry was born in Hays and grew up on a farm near Collyer. He graduated from Collyer High School in 1958, followed by enlistment into the United States Navy. After his military service, he moved to Arkansas and started working for Southwestern Bell Telephone (SWB). This is where he met Connie Sue Martin of Springhill, Ark. Connie was born in Hope, Ark., but lived and attended school in Springhill, Ark. where she graduated in 1964. Following high school she attended cosmetology school in Texarkana and worked as a cosmetologist until having their first child. Larry took a job transfer with SWB, and they moved to Kansas. He worked for SWB for 35+ years in Colby, Hays, and Great Bend, before retiring. The couple  have three daughters, Cindy Clark and husband, Randy and Sandy Huddleston and husband, Mic, both of Great Bend, and Tammi Schreiner and husband, Kevin of Austin; six grandchildren, Seth Burress, Sharon Sullivan and husband, Adam, Cody Huddleston, Kade Huddleston and wife, Haylee, and Nola and Gibson Schreiner; and one great-granddaughter, Leah Mae, with another great-grandchild on the way.
