Bryon and Carolyn Nelson will celebrate their 50th anniversary from 2 to 4 p.m. today with a reception at the Trinity Lutheran Church fellowship hall, 2701 24th in Great Bend. Friends and family are invited.
Bryon Nelson and Carolyn Parsons were united in marriage on Sept. 11, 1960 at the Marion Hill Lutheran Church. They moved to Great Bend in 1970 where they owned and operated Schendel Pest Control until their retirement in 2008. The couple has five children, Stan and Joyce Nelson, Lindy Nelson, Becky and Rick Love, all of Great Bend, Ken and Tammi Nelson of Lee Summit, Mo. and Brad and Kelly nelson of Vassar; and 11 grandchildren.
