Earl and Janice Schmidt will celebrate their 65th anniversary with a reception from 1:30 to 4 p.m. on March 30 at the First United Methodist Church, 2123 Forest, in Great Bend. Hosts for the event will be their children, Mike and Janet Schmidt of Cornelius, Ore., Dennis and Terrie Schmidt of Athens, Texas and Brenda Girard of Hays. The couple has eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Janice Flick and Earl Schmidt were united in marriage on March 21, 1948 at the Pawnee Rock Methodist Church. Residents of rural Pawnee Rock, Earl is a farmer and Janice is a housewife.
