Jim and Diana (Derr) Swan celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 7. A family reunion is planned for July in Great Bend with their children and grandchildren.
The couple was united in marriage on May 7, 1965, at the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jim was the director of the Great Bend Public Library and the administrator of the Central Kansas Library System for 31 years before retiring in 2009. The couple has four children, Debra (Ron) Crockett of Spring City, Utah, David (Kathy) of Katy, Texas, Jared (Nolita) of Round Rock, Texas, and Benjamin (Carolyn) of Mays Landing, N.J.; and 12 grandchildren.
