Gerald and Kay Wondra will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Oct. 22, with a card shower.
Kay Heeke and Gerald Wondra were united in marriage on Oct. 22, 1966, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Windthorst. Kay is a farm wife, an RN and worked in maintenance department at Barton Community College retiring after 16 years. Gerald farmed and worked at J. C. Penney retiring after 47 yrs. The couple has five children, Sharon and Pat Gatton, and Kelly and Kristen Wondra, all of Ellinwood, Michelle and Matt Mackeprang of Wamego, Dr. Tim and Dr. Lauri of Fort Madison Iowa, and Julie and Jason Wagner of Otis; 11 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. In August all the family met in Kansas City for a weekend to celebrate the couple’s anniversary and to attend a Royal’s game.
