Arleen Branson of Prairie Village will celebrate her 90th birthday on April 20, with a family gathering and a card shower.
Arleen was born on April 20, 1926, in Bushton. She has resided in rural Bushton, Lyons, Denton, Texas, Shreveport, La., Kansas City, Salina, Hutchinson and Great Bend. On July 31, 1947, she married A.L. Branson in Lyons. He died on March 12, 2004. She and her husband owned/operated Branson Truck Line where Arleen retired as office manager. She volunteers for many organizations including the First United Methodist Church, Rice County Food Bank and the Lyons Chamber of Commerce. She enjoys knitting hats and sewing lap robes for cancer patients. She has a son, Don Branson and wife Carol of Prairie Village; two daughters, Gaila Nielsen of Ellinwood and Nancy Lester and husband Morgan of Melbourne, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
