Richard Bollig will celebrate his 98th birthday on June 20.
A Staff Sergeant from 1941 to 1945, he was in the 159 Infantry serving in Rhineland, Central Europe and the Aleutian Islands. In November 1949 he married Edith Herrman. The couple have two children, Sylvia Billinger and husband Pete of Great Bend and Dale Bollig and wife Connie of Moore, Okla.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
