Lucinda “Cindy” Rugan celebrated her 70th birthday on Jan. 19 with a card shower.
Cindy was born Jan. 19, 1943 in Kinsley to Joseph and Clara Johnson of Macksville. On Nov. 2, 1963 she married Donald Rugan and has been a resident of Claflin since that time. Cindy was a registered nurse, graduating from the Dominican Sisters School of Nursing in Great Bend. Her career included serving in the nursing field for Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend, school nurse for the Claflin School District and many years with Golden Belt Home Health & Hospice until her retirement in 2008.
Her children are, Cynthia Odden of Williamsburg, Va., Richard and Janel Rugan of Claflin and Robert and Cheryl Rugan of Great Bend. She has seven grandchildren, Tanner and Ashley Odden of Williamsburg, Va., Sydney, Brady and Delaney Rugan of Claflin, and Wyatt and Olivia Rugan of Great Bend,
