Connie Peacock will celebrate her 90th birthday with a party for friends and relatives from 2 to 4 p.m. on Feb. 17 at River Bend Assisted Living Facility, 3820 Broadway, Great Bend. Hosts for the event will be her children, Claudia of Carmel Valley, Calif., Robert of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Sheldon of Great Bend.
Connie was born on Feb. 21, 1923, in Wakeeney. On Aug. 3, 1941, she married Thomas Peacock, also of WaKeeney. The couple moved to Great Bend in 1945 and resided there together until his death in 1995. Connie operated Connie’s Yarn Center, where she sold speciality yarns and knitting machines, taught classes and met with a group local machine knitters at her home until 1997. Connie is a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Pilot Club. She has five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  
Friends who are unable to attend the celebration may send cards to River Bend Assisted Living Facility.
