Dr. Bill King will celebrate his 80th birthday and 20 years of retirement from his OB-Gyn Practice with a come and go reception from 2 to 4 p.m. on Aug. 2, at StoneRidge Country Club, 24th and Frey. Friends, colleagues, and former patients are invited. No gifts are requested.
Bill was born on Aug. 1, 1935, in Fairbury Neb. He is a lifelong Kansas resident. On June 28, 1959, he married Mary Miller in Lawrence. She passed away June 11, 2011. He is a graduate of the University of Kansas in Lawrence, the University of Kansas Medical School and completed a Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kansas University Medical Center. In 1965 he and Mary moved to Great Bend and Bill started a private practice of OB-Gyn. He retired in 1995 after 30 years of practice. He has stayed busy in his retirement serving his community, National Presbyterian Mariners, Rotary International, and working in numerous camp and conference centers. He has four children, Carolee Hoffman, Dr. Russell King, Pamela Tracy, and Dr. Roberta King; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
