Dr. Robert J. Weaver celebrated his 90th birthday with a family and friends dinner hosted by Derinda Bussman, Teresa Bachand and Mary Sue Schneider.
Bob was born on April 24, 1922, in Burlington. He joined the National Guard and became an Executive Director Artillery C-Battery and was sent to Europe to fight in World War II. In 1942, he married Mae Kleper. After the war they both attended Kansas State University where Bob received a veterinarian general degree. He moved to Great Bend where he had his veterinarian practice for 19 years. He became the first supervisor for Western Kansas for the new Kansas Meat and Poultry Inspection Board and retired after 19 years.
Bob and Mae reside in Great Bend at Riverside Assisted Living.
