Eugene Hallett will celebrate his 80th birthday on Jan. 6.
Eugene was born on Jan. 6, 1933 in Rush Center to Earnest and Zelma Hallett. He was raised on the family farm in Rush Center. On Sept. 22, 1956 he  married Carol Ochs in La Crosse. In 1961, he moved to Great Bend and was employed at the power plant for 35 years. He has four children, Gene Hallett of Merriam, Connie Rathbun and husband Wayne of Great Bend, Michelle Schwager and husband Ron of Hoisington and Renee Moore and husband Craig of Pawnee Rock; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
