Florence Shaffer will celebrate her 80th birthday with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. on Dec. 11 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Fellowship Hall, 2101 Jackson, in Great Bend. Hosts for the event will be her husband, children and grandchildren.
Florence graduated from St. Rose School of Nursing in 1952. She worked at various facilities in and around the Great Bend area including Eisenhower School in the SMH room. She was a personal care provider to several individuals throughout her career.
Florence and her husband Ben have nine children, 16 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
