Geneva Steinert will celebrate her 90th birthday with a reception from 2-4 p.m. on Aug. 26, 2017, at Faith Community Church Family Center, 293 W. Barton County Road in Great Bend. Hosts for the event will be her children, David Steinert and Mary (Terry) French of Great Bend, and Marty (Kim) Steinert of Topeka.
Geneva was born on Aug. 27, 1927, in Bison to Henry and Mary (Leinweber) Popp. On Oct. 28, 1949, she married Vernon Steinert. She was employed as an operator at Bell Telephone Company and a secretary at Steinert Oil Company. From 1986 to 2008 she and her husband were volunteers for the Mobile Missionary Assistance Program. The couple have nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
